Le troisième congrès européen sur la conservation des orthoptères (ECOC III) et la seizième conférence annuelle de la Deutsche Gesellschaft für Orthoptérologie (DGfO) ont eu lieu à Leyde (Pays-Bas) les 1^er et 2 avril 2022. Au total, 138 participants de 31 pays se sont inscrits à cet événement. The third European Congress on Orthoptera Conservation (ECOC III) and 16th Annual Conference of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Orthopterologie (DGfO) has taken place on 1-2 April, in Naturalis, Leiden (the Netherlands). In total 138 participants from 31 countries have registered for this event. Les 1^er et 2 avril 2022, le troisième congrès européen sur la conservation des orthoptères (ECOC III) aura lieu à Leyde (Pays-Bas). Les orthoptéristes sont invités à rejoindre la réunion à Leyde, mais il est également possible d’y assister en ligne. La participation en ligne est gratuite, mais vous devez vous inscrire. April 1 and 2 the third European Congress on Orthoptera Conservation (ECOC III) will take place in Leiden (the Netherlands). Orthopterists are welcome to join the meeting live in Leiden, but there is also the possibility to attend online. Online participation is free of charge, but you need to register. Please look at the latest information on the congress here, where you can find the preliminary program and registration form. Registration is open until March 7.

Après avoir été reporté à deux reprises, le troisième congrès européen sur la conservation des orthoptères se tiendra les 1^er et 2 avril 2022, à Leyde (Pays-Bas). Si le congrès a été annulé en 2020, la publication a été maintenue d’un rapport électronique fournissant un aperçu de l’état de la recherche et de la conservation des orthoptères dans les différents pays européens (Kleukers & Felix (eds.), 2020). European Congress on Orthoptera Conservation (ECOCIII) 1-2 April 2022

Dear Grasshopper friends,  Conservationists and Nature lovers

The registration for the third European Congress on Orthoptera Conservation (ECOCIII) which will be held in Leiden, the Netherlands 1-2 april 2022 is now open and can be found following this link. The congress will be combined with the 16th biannual meeting of the German Society for Orthopterology (DGfO). The venue is the completely renovated Naturalis Biodiversity Center, which in 2020 celebrated its 200-year anniversary.

Due to the uncertainty about restrictions being imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic, registration consists of two steps. First step is the registration itself which requires filling in the online form; deadline for registration is February 28th 2022. The second step is the payment of the registration fee (with or without dinner arrangements). For this a request will be send in March 2022 to those who registered based on the information filled in on the registration form. The payment request will only be send when a more accurate assessment of the measures linked to Covid-19 indicate ECOCIII can take place.

After two cancellations (2020 and 2021) due to Covid we sincerely hope that ECOCIII will finally take place in 2022. We very much look forward to it, meeting new and old friends and sharing our mutual interest in Orthoptera.
